A note about the bike shoot; this 25 year old Brad Pitt was not originally our model but our original model wasn't feeling well so this guy stepped in. Needless to say, the three other women in my group and I were quite please with the substitution.

Shooting For Magazines
Two weeks ago I got to spend an entire week learning how to shoot for magazines. My class was taught by Allison Leach, a former People Magazine photographer. Throughout the week we were given three assignments that would be similar to those given out by a photo editor. We had to photograph an employee in their place of business for a human interest story (the bike shoot), an executive in their office for a business magazine (the man in suit), and a celebrity promoting a new product for a promotional story (the laundry shoot...don't ask). For these shoots we lug studio lighting on location and have minimal time to work with our subject. The idea is to come up with unique and creative ways to photograph these people so that the images are not stale for the publication.
